Ernie is ON THE PHONE as I type, talking to his county commissioner and voicing his concern about the crisis at Lied Animal Shelter. Can you spare 5 minutes to make a quick call and help us out? Our leaders need to understand that the deaths of these animals are being felt by the entire COUNTRY, not just Las Vegas.

ACTION ALERT:

Nevada Voters 4 Animals (NV4A) Needs Your Participation! And, dogs and cats in our valley need your VOICE! see details below. Please forward to all interested.

IF YOU DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE RECENT EMERGENCY AT LIED ANIMAL SHELTER, WHICH LED TO THE MASS EUTHANASIA OF OVER 1,000 ANIMALS, PLEASE CALL THE CLARK COUNTY COMMMISSIONERS OFFICE AND VOICE YOUR CONCERN. NEVADA’S ELECTED OFFICIALS ARE THE DECIDERS AND WE MUST LET THEM KNOW OUR WISHES.

Please call (702) 455-3500 and let a commissioner know you demand accountability on the county’s contract with Lied Animal Foundation. Also, request more resources are given to Animal Control for enforcement of responsible pet owner laws and proactive measures to control the pet population in Southern Nevada.

Remember, Participation is the key to change!!

 Today was a great day for pets in Las Vegas. We initially started this site because we believe that Ernie has a lot to say about animal welfare and he really wanted to make a difference. Your response to the pet crisis in Las Vegas is proof that the world is full of caring, compassionate people and their pets, and we thank you for that!

 In our first day, we have raised over $400 for the Southern Nevada SPCA (at least that was reported to us), recruited 1 person who wants to submit a foster application, and fed a whole lot of rabbits. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much. We want to say “goodnight” with a picture from the very first day we had Ernie. He was about 14 lbs then. (He’s 90 now). Take a look!

i just joined dogster so i could meet more new friends and spread the word for spca. join me there! search for ernie in las vegas.

mom joked around and said that my favorite trick is algebra. shes so funny! even tho she was kidding i still want to try my hand at math by cOuNtInG how much all of my friends are donating to spca!! since this morning, we have already raised:

300 lbs of bunny food (bunnies need to eat, too!)

$200 in donations.

and they keep coming in! here’s a pic of me and my mom saying ‘thanx everyone!’

Thanks to Deb and everyone at A Best Web, The Bloggy Doggy is starting to get traffic. Stephanie and I (along with Ernie, Ollie and Bennie) couldn’t be more pleased with the response. Please feel free to post your thoughts and comments here or in our forum. I’d also love to post any rescued pet stories and photos here and have created a category for that. So come on in and get your feet wet!

We’re also in the process of setting up some pet-related stores here. 100% of these proceeds will be donated to Southern Nevada SPCA, so shop away knowing that you’re also donating to a great cause!
